This policy explains what information kj to calories (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit kjtocalories.org (the “site”), how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email Info@kjtocalories.org.
The Short Version
- Our calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type, weight, height, age, food amounts, are not sent to us or stored by us.
- We don’t ask you to create an account.
- We collect only the limited technical information any website needs to run securely.
Information We Collect
Information You Give Us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it only to reply and keep a record of the conversation.
If you leave a comment on a blog post (where comments are enabled), we collect the name, email address and comment you submit, plus your IP address and browser user-agent to help detect spam.
Information Collected Automatically
Like almost every website, our hosting and security providers automatically process technical data when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you request and the date and time of the request. This is used to deliver pages, keep the site secure, prevent abuse and diagnose problems.
Calculator Inputs
Values you enter into our converters and calculators are processed by JavaScript on your own device. They are not transmitted to our servers.
Cookies
The site itself uses only cookies that are necessary for it to function, for example, WordPress may set a cookie if you leave a comment so you don’t have to re-enter your details. We don’t use advertising cookies at the moment.
If we add analytics or advertising in future, we’ll update this policy first, describe the cookies involved, and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
Third-Party Services
- Web fonts. We load the Inter typeface from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google’s servers to download it, which shares your IP address with Google. See Google’s privacy policy for details.
- Hosting, security and delivery. Our site is served through a content delivery and security network that processes request data to protect the site and speed up delivery.
We don’t sell your personal information and we don’t share it with third parties for their own marketing.
How Long We Keep Information
- Emails: for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and for reasonable record-keeping.
- Comments: for as long as the comment is published, unless you ask us to remove it.
- Server logs: typically for a short period set by our hosting and security providers.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, the Australian Privacy Principles, or US state privacy laws, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, email Info@kjtocalories.org. We’ll respond within the time required by law.
Children
The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last changed.
